Fragmented Landscapes: A Patch

Situated sonic rewilding at Dinefwr Castle/Castell Dinefwr

Different uses of land at Dinefwr such as cow fields, woodland, gardens, and a deer park reflect a microcosm of global land use conflicts. Rosie unravels the fragmented landscape at Dinefwr through sonic-sculptural composition. Her synthesis of field recordings taken at four locations around the site interwoven with a synth patch is a means of reaching a wild wholeness through harmony between human, land and technology.

Fragmented Land. A Patch was commissioned for Fragments of Place at Beyond the Border, Wales’ International Storytelling Festival, 2 - 4 July 2021. Many thanks to the commissioning panel for this opportunity to develop and show this work.
